Knit Kit - 2-needle alpaca wool socks

This alpaca sock kit uses wool from British and Irish alpaca farms. The sock kit is from our new Restful range of knitting kits, which is surprising because many of us find knitting socks so stressful. The clever solution here introduces you to knitting socks by knitting them as a flat panel which is then sewn up. Once you have done this, you will find knitting in the round so much easier. 

The socks uses special alpaca yarn sock yarn spun from the fleece of alpacas from UK farms.  The kit includes the yarn, pattern, project bag. The yarn is 4Ply weight, 75% pure British Alpaca and 25% nylon, and available in a range of colours, including two hand-dyed options. The hand-dyed options are slightly more expensive to reflect the work involved.

Size: Size 5 - 6 (with instructions for smaller/larger feet)

Uses 3mm needles (not included)

• Cotton alpaca project bag
• 100g (400m)  Gorgeous DK yarn made from 75% alpaca/25% sheep's wool
• Pattern for these socks

You will also need: 3mm single pointed needles and a tapestry needle for weaving in ends

As with all Gorgeous alpaca DK kits, the socks will be warm and cosy, but lightweight and breathes well. The alpaca yarn has a small amount of sock nylon blended in, which makes it easy to knit with, and still retains that wonderful alpaca softness.

The socks can be washed by hand or in a machine on a wool wash at 20 degrees.
