Welcome to our range of Gorgeous alpaca yarns
All the yarn is 100% natural, and either 100% alapca or with a mix of quality sheep wool. 95% of the yarn is from our own or other UK herds, although we have one range from Peru, the original home of all alpacas.
The yarn is processed sustainably at low temperatures and without chemicals.
If you want to use any of the coloured yarn on this page in a kit, order the kit and make a note of your yarn choice in the comments section.

Coloured Alpaca Yarns
In response to several requests, we now stock some coloured alpaca yarns. Our focus remains on natural uncoloured materials, but we all need bright coloured days, so here's a range for you!
What's so Gorgeous
Virtually all the yarn we sell is from our own small herd of alpacas or sourced in the UK from other UK herds of alpacas. Some is 100% alpaca, others are mixed with up to 25% sheep's wool, also sourced from UK herds. We have one small collection of Peruvian yarns (the original home of all alpaca herds).
We use no man-made fibres or chemicals and our packaging is 100% recyclable

Alpaca yarn is long lasting, so products will literally last a life-time!
Uniqueness of Alpaca Yarn
Alpaca yarn is popular because it’s so soft, durable, luxurious and silky. In fact, it's stronger than mohair, finer than cashmere, smoother than silk, softer than cotton, warmer than goosedown, and more breathable than thermal knits. While it's similar to sheep’s wool, it is warmer, not prickly, and has no lanolin, which makes it hypoallergenic.
The fibre has a unique hollow quality that means it keeps you warm when it's cold, but keeps you cool when it's hot. It means it's also naturally water-repellent. As evidence, we wear our hats in the rain and come in with totally dry hair ... so finally, knitwear that you can wear in wind, rain and sunshine!
lt's even flame resistant!
